Located in the heart of Kohanaiki, the one-acre biodynamic organic community farm epitomizes the commitment to sustainability, health, and wellness at Kohanaiki. A delightful stroll through the “produce aisle” is a great way to see where your next meal is coming from. The farm produces many of the organic fruits and vegetables used in the Club’s restaurants and catering services.
Four distinct planting themes—Polynesian, Mediterranean, Central American, and Asian—weave throughout the lush oasis, representing tastes from all over the globe. Thriving in the rich volcanic soil and grown completely free of pesticides and herbicides, the fresh bounty includes everything from guava, mango, pineapple, liliko‘i, taro, dragonfruit, and three varieties of bananas, to pomegranates, figs, okra, eggplant, ginger, lemongrass, and Surinam cherries.
Native flora with healing properties is also grown. Plants such as aloe vera and lavender are cultivated for use in the therapeutic indulgences at Kohanaiki Spa. Although it’s a working farm, visitors are welcome—and bring the keiki. After all, it’s never too early to plant the seeds of healthy eating habits.
