We are looking for experienced & talented servers with high level customer service, superior attention to detail, and a passion for creating memorable experiences.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.

Job Summary:

Create memorable dining experiences for members and guests at one of Kohanaiki’s two signature restaurants, Kōnane and Beach Restaurant. Our cooks consistently and creatively present each dish in a way that is pleasing to the eye and delicious. As a key team member of the kitchen staff, the cooks must bring a positive attitude each day while working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the kitchen and work areas are maintained in accordance with Kohanaiki’s health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Prepares ingredients efficiently and in an orderly manner; checks quality of ingredients; and chops and peels vegetables, cuts meat properly.
  • Demonstrates basic cooking skills, including, but not limited to, proper use of cutting tools, cookware and bakeware, knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling, etc.), sanitization methods, proper storage of food.
  • Work in compliance with applicable OHSA regulations.
  • Use proper body mechanics in performance of responsibilities.
  • Report all accidents, illnesses or “near-miss” incidents to supervisor and management.
  • Uses effective communication methods with team members through both verbal and non-verbal communication.
  • Performs role under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.

Essential Qualifications

  • Culinary degree or related kitchen experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Available to work on a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Able to lift at least 20 lbs.
  • Excellent communication skills.
