Chris brings a solid public accounting background, and more than 10 years in luxury real estate development and the private club industry, to his position at Kohanaiki. A former Chief Financial Officer at both Baker’s Bay Golf & Ocean Club and The Cliffs, Chris is a board member for Hospitality Finance Technology Professionals and serves on the advisory boards for two international, industry leading technology and solutions oriented companies. Outside of work, he and his family enjoy activities on the water, in the outdoors and sports.

Since joining Kohanaiki in 2008, Allison’s day-to-day priority is to ensure the administrative responsibilities of Kohanaiki are handled with professionalism. She also oversees the organization’s human resources, managing employee relations as well as the process of hiring and training new team members. Prior to joining Kohanaiki, Allison served for nine years as the Executive Assistant to the General Manager at the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel.

VICE PRESIDENT DEVELOPMENT & CONSTRUCTION

Born in California, Thad’s family moved to Hawai`i when he was 5 years old and he had the good fortune to grow up in rural Honolulu. After completing college in California and spending a few years working in Newport Beach, he returned to Hawai`i and has been working in the Hawai`i real estate industry for the last 30+ years. More than half of those years have been spent helping to craft luxury resort communities around the islands, including Kukui`ula on Kauai, and Hualālai on Hawai`i Island. With his training in business and engineering, and a passion for placemaking and design, moving the Kohanaiki community forward is the perfect challenge and opportunity for Thad. In his spare time, he enjoys music, water sports, cycling, and photography.

DERRICK FUKUMOTO

VICE PRESIDENT FINANCE

Derrick joined Kohanaiki in 2012, bringing 28 years of financial experience, most recently as Controller at Waikoloa Land Company. He provides leadership and guidance in the essential day-to-day functions of the accounting department, including key tasks of budgeting, forecasting, and business plan updates. In addition, as Vice President of Finance, his responsibilities include all financial reporting as well as strategic guidance in achieving Kohanaiki’s financial goals.

David brings 17 years of luxury resort and private club experience to Kohanaiki. A member of the PGA since 2002, David most recently served as general manager of Fountaingrove Golf and Athletic Club in Sonoma County; he was involved early on at Winchester Country Club in Meadow Vista, CA; and managed golf operations at CordeValle, a private club and Five-Star boutique hotel in San Martin, CA. David will oversee all areas of operation at Kohanaiki, delivering the highest level of personal service imaginable on a consistent basis.

 

 

STEVEN ROSE

ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER

A charter employee of Kohanaiki, Steven has worked in all areas of the club and community. As Assistant General Manager, Steven will be assisting with all areas of operations at Kohanaiki. Born and raised on the Big Island, Steven is a graduate of Sonoma State University, where he majored in Biology with an emphasis on Marine Ecology. He joined Kohanaiki in 2007 as its Pond and Near-Shore Waters Manager, overseeing the restoration and maintenance of the 200+ anchialine pools and beach area along the coastline fronting Kohanaiki. Steven will continue to oversee the care and protection of Kohanaiki’s natural resources. In his time off, Steven spends time with his family, plays soccer, golf, and enjoys a multitude of water sports.
