Thriving in the rich volcanic soil and grown completely free of pesticides and herbicides, the fresh bounty includes everything from guava, mango, pineapple, liliko‘i, taro, dragonfruit, and three varieties of bananas, to pomegranates, figs, okra, eggplant, ginger, lemongrass, and Surinam cherries.
Native flora with healing properties is also grown. Plants such as aloe vera and lavender are cultivated for use in the therapeutic indulgences at Kohanaiki Spa. Although it’s a working farm, visitors are welcome—and bring the keiki. After all, it’s never too early to plant the seeds of sustainability.
